BBC South Today Caterpillar Coverage
Following discovery of box tree caterpillars in her garden, Liz Bardolph decided to make sure her fellow gardeners were aware of the problem and how to deal with the pest, she called the BBC South Today news team. Roger Finn was the weekend news producer and he got in contact with EBTS who briefed him on what can be done to control the pest. EBTS also set him up to do an interview with ex-chairman Bruce Ginsberg in his wonderful Berkshire garden, so far not affected by the moth, which was filmed on Sunday morning by reporter Jo Kent.
The item went out as the lead story on the evening news bulletin Sunday 4th August and showed the online box moth and caterpillar traker map during the introduction to the piece.
