Our year opens with the AGM at Hever Castle, Kent, Anne Boleyn’s childhood home.

Day 1

09:30  Tea & coffee
10:00  Welcome and formal AGM
10:45  Short break
11:00  ‘The Joy of Gardening – Observation from Great Dixter’ a talk by Michael Wachter & Coralie Thomas, Great Dixter
12:00  ‘Leaving a Landscape Legacy’ a talk by Marian Boswall of Marian Boswall Landscape Architects
13:00  Buffet lunch by Leith’s
13:45  Extra – A short talk by Nigel Goodayle on a cure for Box Blight and plant care
14:15  Talk by Hever Castle, Head Gardener Neil Miller about the gardens & their history
14:45  Tour of the gardens
16:00  Afternoon tea and scones in the Tudor Suite of Hever Castle
16:30  Wander back through the gardens and depart Hever Castle

Our group dinner will be at the Hever Hotel.

Day 2

Next day we have a private tour of some of the 11 acre formal Grade I listed gardens at Penshurst Place Gardens by Head Gardener Tony Wiseman and Assistant Head Gardener Nick McKenzie.  After this we’ll visit the exquisite garden of Long Barn, Kent, Sissinghurst’s ‘little sister’ and after lunch we visit Chevening by kind permission of The Board of Trustees of the Chevening Estate with Marian Boswall as our guide.
