AGM & The Garden Museum
If you are coming to the EBTS UK AGM at the Garden Museum on May 6th and you like to know a bit about the place you are visiting, here are a couple of things that might interest you.
Gardeners Question Time
On 23rd March 2017 the programme came from Fife and they included an item on John Tradescant.
How does this link with the AGM?
Well the Garden Museum houses the tomb of John Tradescant (c1570 – 1638) who is widely held as the first great gardener and plant-hunter in British history. He setup the first public museum showing off his collection of plants and items from his travels in ‘The Ark’.
If you want to hear more about the collection and how some of it will be returning to it’s home Lambeth take a listen to BBC Gardeners Question Time, the item starts 13’10” into the programme and runs for about eight minutes.
The Garden Museum
If you have previously been to the Garden Museum or would just like to know a bit more about the renovations that are taking place, why not watch the video of the Museum transformation which shows the work in progress?
Or visit their website to read more about the changes at the museum.
Hopefully things will all be finished by the time of our AGM on 6th May when you will be able to explore the new exhibits, see clipping demonstrations from Chelsea medal winner James Crebbin-Bailey, buy Caroline Foley’s wonderful new book ‘Topiary Knots & Parterres’ (available for pre-order via our shop) and listen to a talk by Dr Noel Kingsbury.
